Chat, communities and games. Built with you.

Krummo is a lightweight, end-to-end encrypted, social home for gamers, proudly built in Europe. We're not open to everyone yet, but you can get in line now and help shape it from the first day. Make it look, and soon behave, exactly how you want.

Built in Europe End-to-end encrypted Light on RAM and CPU Fully customisable Community first
What we stand for

Three promises we're building on.

Before features, there are principles. These are the ones we won't trade away.

Proudly built in Europe

Made in Europe, with European privacy expectations as the starting point rather than an afterthought. Your data is yours, and we only keep what the app needs to work.

End-to-end encrypted

Direct messages, group chats and their attachments are encrypted on your device before they leave it. The server only ever stores ciphertext it cannot read.

Community first, always

Krummo exists for the people who use it. Decisions are made with the community, not around it, and that won't change as we grow.

Lightweight by design

Easy on your RAM and CPU, so your game gets the rest.

Chat apps shouldn't compete with the thing you're playing. The Krummo desktop app for Windows is built to stay small and out of the way, so your game keeps its frames and your PC keeps its breathing room.

  • Small and efficient. A compact install and a light footprint, without a pile of extra baggage running behind the scenes.
  • Quiet in the background. Minimise it to the tray and keep your friends and servers one click away.
  • Game detection done locally. A small native check for running games. Your process list never leaves your machine.
What's coming

Everything a gaming community needs, in one place.

Chat, voice, servers, a social feed and a game library, with the tools to run them properly. Most of this is built already and is waiting for the Alpha, which hasn't started yet.

Private chat that's actually private

DMs, group chats, voice notes and attachments are encrypted on your device before they're sent. Lose your device? An optional passphrase-protected key backup lets you restore it, and two-factor authentication protects the account itself.

  • Replies, reactions, read receipts and typing indicators
  • Stickers, GIFs and voice notes
  • A /timestamp command that shows times in everyone's own timezone

Calls that follow you

1:1, group and server voice channels with screen share, pop-out call windows and live call stats.

Servers with structure

Channels, categories, threads, roles, a full permission system with per-channel overrides, and slowmode.

Looking for group, done properly

Every server gets its own LFG board. Post a party with a game and seats, let people join or apply, and see each applicant's hours in that game before you accept. Starting the party opens a private voice room for its members only.

A profile that knows what you play

The desktop app detects 100+ games and shows what you're playing. Link Steam, and your profile shows top games, total hours and when you usually play. Every bit of it can be hidden or cleared whenever you like.

Onboarding and events

Greet newcomers with a welcome flow: rules, pick-your-games and role questions. Schedule game nights with RSVPs and reminders.

A social feed for gamers

Follow friends, creators and games, and share clips, devlogs, releases and polls. More on this below.

Know your community

Server search, discovery and an analytics dashboard for activity, growth and busiest times.

Moderation with receipts

Moderators get real tools, and members get fairness. Every action is a numbered case, communities can publish a transparent mod log, and members can appeal. Accepting an appeal lifts the action.

Social

A social network that's actually about games.

Chat is only half of it. Krummo has a built-in social feed, so what you play, make and share lives in the same place as your friends.

Post it, follow it, react to it

Share what you're up to and follow the people, studios and games you care about. React, comment and bookmark, and get notified when it matters rather than all the time.

Friends and presence

Add friends, see who's online and who's playing what, and keep the people you don't want to hear from out with blocking.

Pages for creators

Developers, studios and games get their own pages, with verified badges so you know who's real.

Polls and playtests

Ask your followers what to build next, or recruit players for a playtest straight from a post.

You control the feed

Mute accounts, hide games you don't care about, block people, and schedule your own posts ahead of time.

Customisation

Make it yours. Then make it do things.

Krummo is built to be shaped. Change how it looks, how your server works and, soon, what it can do.

Theme builder

Build your own theme from scratch, preview it live across the whole app, pick your own logo and share it with a code or a file. Prefer something quick? Start from one of the accent themes. Try one right here: this page runs on the same design tokens as the app.

Share themes

Export a theme as a code or file, and import the ones your friends make.

Your server, your rules

Custom roles with fine-grained permissions, custom stickers, your own automod rules and a welcome flow you design.

In the works

Bot builder

Build bots for your community by dragging and dropping, without writing a single line of code. Welcome new members, run game-night reminders, answer common questions, react to events: put together the behaviour you want and switch it on. And if you'd rather write code, you can do that too. It won't be in the first Alpha, and we want the community to tell us what it should be able to do first.

Your profile, your way

Banners, badges and a game showcase make your profile look like you. You choose what's visible: playtime, library and Steam presence are opt-in or hideable.

Your experience, your comfort

Comfortable or compact message density, a reduced-motion mode, custom notification behaviour, and audio and video settings that stay out of your way.

Alpha testing

The Alpha hasn't started yet.

Krummo isn't ready to go live, and we'd rather say so than pretend. The Alpha isn't open and we don't have a date to share yet. When it starts, it will be a small, invite-only group of testers, with rough edges, fast fixes and a direct line to the people building it. Join the list to be first to hear.

Community first

You get a say in building Krummo.

This isn't a product handed down from above. The people who join early will help decide what gets built, what gets fixed and what we leave out.

Test and report

Once the Alpha starts, testers will find the bugs and the awkward bits and see them fixed in the open.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Straight answers about where Krummo is today and what's coming.

Is Krummo live yet?

No. Krummo isn't ready to go live, and the Alpha hasn't started. You can join the waiting list now to be among the first to hear when it does.

What is Krummo?

Krummo is a lightweight home for gamers. It brings together end-to-end encrypted chat, servers with voice and screen share, a social feed, and a game library, with deep customisation including a theme builder.

Is Krummo end-to-end encrypted?

Direct messages, group chats and their attachments are end-to-end encrypted. They are encrypted on your device before they are sent, so our servers only store ciphertext they cannot read. Server channels are not end-to-end encrypted, so that search, moderation tools and mentions can work for communities. We will always be clear about which is which.

How do I join the Alpha?

Join the waiting list and choose "Test the Alpha" when asked what brings you here. Alpha invitations will go out in small waves. There is no date yet, and joining the list doesn't guarantee an invitation.

What platforms will Krummo run on?

A lightweight Windows desktop app, plus a web app that works in your browser.

Where is Krummo built?

Krummo is proudly built in Europe, with European privacy expectations as the starting point.

What do you do with my email address?

We only use it to tell you about the Alpha and the launch, with the occasional update. We don't sell it, and you can delete it in one click from any email we send. Read the privacy policy for the details.

Can I help shape Krummo?

Yes, that is the idea. Krummo is community first, and the people who join early will help decide what gets built, what gets fixed and what gets left out.
